ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Linda Hatfield has spent more than 35 years working with parents and children as a teacher, educator and parenting coach. She holds a degree in child development and a master's in psychology, and co-founded Parenting From the Heart.

Ty Hatfield is a retired police lieutenant who spent 40 years working with youth and families in Southern California. A certified parenting instructor and co-founder of Parenting From the Heart, he brings an unexpected and grounding perspective to the science of raising kids.

Wendy Thomas Russell is a journalist, author, and publisher. Her writing on parenting, religion and science has appeared in dozens of publications, and her PBS NewsHour video on timeouts was viewed more than 6 million times.
